A Caring Heart provides NC Innovations Day Supports services at 9 locations - Goldsboro, Rocky Mount, Smithfield, Wilmington, Clinton, Wilson, Jacksonville (2 locations) and Kenansville. A Caring Heart Independence Centers offer quality Day Supports services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities fostering growth toward greater independence in home, community and vocational settings. A Caring Heart provides individual and group Day Supports services for children and adults and other day program services for individuals without NC Innovations. Community Inclusion
A Caring Heart Independence Center participants are active members of their communities. Activities include volunteering with non-profit organizations, health club memberships, bowling, dining out, attending festivals and going on out-of-town excursions.
Skill Building
A Caring Heart Independence Center
participants learn pre-vocational skills with consumer-made products and with volunteering. Other skill-building includes computer skills and the internet, recycling, budgeting, crafts, social/ communication skills, healthy living, and community safety.
